Special Events

The following special events are included within the Sydney 2017 Pan-Pac Convention

YOUTH DAY featuring DEKE SHARON
Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 September 2017  10AM - 7.30PM each day
 Ever wished you could sing in a group like Pentatonix or the Barden Bellas from Pitch Perfect? Learn directly from Deke Sharon – the “father of contemporary a cappella". Producer of The Sing-Off, arranger, musical director, and vocal producer of Pitch Perfect 1, 2 & 3, Deke has worked with everyone in a cappella from Pentatonix to Anna Kendrick. Learn the basics in Deke’s Introduction to A Cappella Workshop, right through to watching sophisticated techniques applied to a live group in the Masterclass. The Festival is to be held at the Great Hall, Sydney Boys' High School, off ANZAC Parade. JOHN LITTLE SHOW
(Similar to the BHS Larry Ajer Show)
7.30pm - 10pm Wednesday 27 September 2017 (Venue: Auditorium - Sydney Boys' High School)
This is an
opportunity for competing quartets to perform in a friendly and informal atmosphere in front of their peers prior to the main quartet contest on Thursday. 

CIVIC WELCOME AND MASSED SING
Friday 29 September 2017 - 12.30pm (Venue Martin Place in the centre of Sydney). Please note : This is around a 20 minute walk from the Convention Centre so make sure to allow enough time to get to this great event.

CHORUS CORRAL (Similar to the BHS World Harmony Jamboree)
2pm - Friday 29 September 2017  (Venue : ICCS - Pyrmont Theatre)
This is a fun opportunity for choruses to perform, in a friendly and informal atmosphere, in front of their peers prior to the chorus contest on Saturday. 

HARMONY COLLEGE
Sunday 1 to Wednesday 4 October 2017 

This is being held at Naamaroo Conference Centre in Lane Cove (a suburb of Sydney about 30 minutes drive from the CBD). Bus transport from the Convention Centre to Lane Cove will be provided to all attendees. Harmony College runs from 5pm Sunday 1 until 12.30pm Wednesday 4 October 2017. Bus transfers back to the CBD and airport will leave Harmony College at about 1pm, go through the CBD for drop off arriving at the airport at approximately 3pm. Delegates are advised to book flights departing after 4pm if relying on this bus transport option.
