Delegate Activities
This page provides information for delegates on activities being offered for their participation and enjoyment.
Pop-Up Performances
Pop-Up performances give choruses and quartets the opportunity to perform indoors in various locations throughout Broadbeach.
Pop-Up performances will be from 15-20 minutes in any location.
Most locations are within walking distance of The Star, Gold Coast (Festival HQ).
We will allocate venues that are considered suitable as far as possible to the times you choose. You may choose to nominate several different performance slots.
We are providing Pop-Up performance opportunities in various time slots on Wednesday and Friday only.

John Little Show
All Quartets, whether or not you are competing in Gold Coast are invited to indicate their intention to perform at the John Little Show from 7:30pm on Wednesday 4 September 2024 at TBA. This is a chance for as many quartets we can possibly cram in to hit out before the big contest in a friendly, informal atmosphere. As we would like to give as many quartets as possible the opportunity to perform, all quartets will be restricted to performing one song only. Interested quartets should register here to reserve their singing spot.
Chorus Corral
Choruses attending the Gold Coast Festival are invited to indicate their intention to perform in the traditional Chorus Corral from 2.00pm on Friday 6th of September 2024 in the Star Theatre. This is a chance for around 17 Choruses to perform in a friendly, informal atmosphere whether or not they are entered to compete in the National Contest on Saturday. Choruses who would like to sing one or two non-contest songs at this event should register here to reserve their spot on stage.
Sing with the Champs
This is a unique opportunity for delegates to sing with the international champs.
All it takes is a donation of $50 to BHA Youth Development.

Embark on a harmonious journey with fellow singers at Harmony Academy to be held at PCYC Bornhoffen Leadership Development Centre, 3510 Nerang Murwillumbah Road, Natural Bridge, (nestled in the picturesque Gold Coast hinterland, about a one hour drive from Broadbeach) from Sunday 8 September through to Wednesday 11 September. Designed for singers of all ages and skill levels, our immersive program offers a unique blend of music education and salubrious natural surroundings. From vocal technique sessions to ensemble rehearsals, our experienced faculty (more about our fabulous faculty in a future newsletter!) will guide participants toward vocal excellence while fostering a sense of community and personal growth. Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or new to barbershop, join us for an unforgettable experience of music, friendship, and self-discovery. Your Festival experience won’t be complete without attending Harmony Academy!
